The Ab Sword Handmade Japanese Sword Set is a testament to traditional sword-making techniques, meticulously crafted from folded steel. The blades have undergone an astonishing 13-fold folding process, resulting in an impressive 8,192 layers, combining both flexibility and hardness.
During forging, the repeated folding has created the mesmerizing undulating grain visible on the blades.
Each full tang blade has been carefully hand-polished using a Japanese multi-grade sharpening method, achieving a mirror-like finish.
The blades are then hardened through oil quenching and specially treated to feature striking red and black patterns, preventing rust and adding to their allure.
Long Hi on each side of the blades enhance balance and provide audible feedback when in use, while Chu-kissaki tips add finesse.
Exquisite Details:
The set’s tsuba (guard) features a wheel design crafted from iron, complemented by a brass one-piece Habaki.
Two copper Seppas (spacers) secure the tsuba in place.
Iron Fuchi (sleeve) and Kashira (buttcap) adorn the handles.
The Tsuka (handle) core is made from durable hardwood, wrapped with black synthetic Hineri-maki over red lacquered genuine ray skin Samegawa for a comfortable grip.
