This is a hand forged tanto from Ab Sword, made with 1095 high carbon steel with clay tempering treatment.
It follows a 13-step production process that combines traditional Japanese forging methods with modern technology: material selection, lamination assembly, initial heating, first forging weld, two rounds of fold forging, rough shaping, heat treatment quenching, preliminary grinding, steam treatment, mechanical mirror polishing, edge finishing and inspection. The clay tempering process creates a natural, visible hamon (blade pattern) along the edge.
Key details:

- Tsuka (handle) with silver menuki decoration matching the tsuba, lined with genuine silver samegawa (ray skin), wrapped with purple synthetic silk ito in twisted style, secured with mekugi pins for easy disassembly and maintenance, comfortable single-hand grip
